A Baroque masterpiece of perfect proportions.

Piazza Navonna is Rome's most famous Square. It was built in the 1st century AD as a stadium by Emperor Domitian. Pope Innocent X revived the square in the mid 17th century restoring a palace, a church, and commissioning the great Baroque master,Gian Lorenzo Bernini, to build one of the most beautiful fountains in the world. It's best seen at night when the square really comes to life.

It’s a beautiful piazza, with 3 stunning fountains. It’s in Angels and Demons. You should go! But if you eat and drink around the piazza prepare to get gouged. Stop for a coffee or whatever but I’d not recommend a long stay.
