Largo della Salara Vecchia 5/6, 00186 Rome Italy
Located at the foot of Palatine Hill, the Forum is surrounded by ruins of Rome's most important government buildings. It's usually visited alongside the famous Colosseum.
The Forum was originally covered by a swamp. It was only in the late 7th century BCE that the valley was reclaimed and the Roman Forum began to take shape. It was destined to remain the centre of public life for over a millennium.

Lots of walking!
★★★★★
This is definitely a full day experience. We opted to take our time on a self guided tour. Be warned! There is no food inside the forum. And, you are not allowed to leave for lunch and re-enter. Come prepared with snacks and drinks and lots of walking! Plan on a whole day so that you can stop and sit when you want to just marvel at the ancient remains.

Rude uncaring girl
★★★☆☆
We would have added extra stars however we tried to get to the other side of the Forum as we say a sign saying no exit so up we go a steep hill to be told we can’t get through this way even though it said exit only but we didn’t want to exit but enter, young girl said no, we asked her which entrance can we use then but we got no reply as she had put her nose back in her phone!! That said though it was a very long walk round but we did enjoy it just disappointed in the rudeness we experienced
