History, views, amazing structure. Fort St Angelo is a must when visiting Birgu and Valletta. For a nice lunch after, enjoy Cargo which is right below the fort.

On the shortlist of famous landmarks of Rome
★★★★★
The striking silhouette of Castel Sant'Angelo, on the bank of the Tiber, close to St. Peter Square, is on the short list of famous landmarks of Rome. This 20 century old building has been through many functions in its existence, one notably a refuge for the Pope. Castel Sant'Angelo can be visited for an entrance fee, but beware of the queues.
